Major Update - AQ Networks

Network Update 21-08-2022

Thanks for checking out my blog, this area is for those interested in the status of various updates to the network, websites, projects both in development and production ready etc.

Hardware Update:

As with growth in any network as more users join various sites with in-network so does the amount of space needed to host data. I've added

4 Terabytes of additional webspace to our network server. All sites on the network have been backed up and are currently in process of moving each

to the new section of the server to accommodate space. This is quite a lengthy process so is being done in stages.

Network Update:

This summer I upgraded my servers to a 1.5 gigs Fibre connection to improve the speed of the network and other related functions.

OS Update

As with security and improvements, I've updated the server operating system (Linux) this has been a major endeavour but is now completed.

LAMP Stack

AQ Networks has its' own custom LAMP Stack which I built from source code, this makes it easier for me to make updates as needed, I'm currently in the process of

updating this to the latest dependencies again this is also a major endeavour and is progressing smoothly. These changes were long overdue and will help with

improvements related to security, and speed and open new doors for functionality to various sites within the network.

Virtual Notes:

When you see Virtual Name next to sites below it means these sites a virtual versions of the sites named. Example Virtual Facebook would mean the site is

designed to be a Virtual Social Network similar to Facebook but for Avatars. Each site in the network has a function and purpose it's not required that users join or follow each site,

many are free to join however some invite only or are in development. Feel free to contact me if interested in any of the sites below. the VR Sites have been running for 4 years and have

10000s members from second life and other virtual platforms on them. Linden Lab has an official account on all 3 VR sites.
